When Ferranti is not studying business at the University of Montana, he plays for the school's club hurling team. Recently, they played against the University of Colorado Boulder, but the team competes with different schools nationwide, including Purdue and Notre Dame. According to club president Fiona Doyle, the UM Hurling team started in 2013 and just celebrated its 10-year anniversary.
